Dr Annie McSeveney Inaugural Memorial Lecture
The Association of Chartered Teachers Scotland is pleased to present, with the kind support of the GTCS, the inaugural seminar in memory of Dr Annie McSeveney, (1946 - 2010). Annie was one of the first Chartered Teachers to be accredited in Scotland and the founder of the Association. She was to have presented the findings of research work on evaluating accomplished teaching at the European Educational Research Association conference in Helsinki in 2010. Her doctorate was awarded in aegrotat by the Open University. The Keynote speaker will be Professor Bill Lucas, Chairman of the UK's Talent Foundation, Co-Director of the Centre for real-World learning at the University of Winchester and Director of The Expansive Education network, an organisation which promotes action research. Bill will share his work on expansive education what it is, why it matters and where it is increasingly found in a local, national and global sense. He will offer us helpful constructs with reference to our own context in Scotland as we navigate our own educational landscape and adapt to hugely significant global changes. This will be followed by learning conversation with questions, comments and observations from the audience.
