Spring Creative Art Retreat (Washington State)
You deserve a play date...or two...all in a beautiful, relaxing, supportive space.
Join us for our EXPANDED PROGRAM of art-making, exploration, creativity, and fun...all in the beautiful setting of Western Washington. Just a short drive or ferry ride from Seattle, reward yourself with a day of play or stay overnight in the fabulous Fort Worden State Park. Classes are set in a classroom-style studio space...choose from our most popular activities like lego-building, textile arts (crochet, knit), sock creatures, pennant flags, mixed media collage, photography how-to, creative reuse, and more. Or, bring your own projects that need finishing. Plus, we've got some fun new projects that you haven't seen before! Then, take time to explore the space around you with outdoor activities and games for a breathe of fresh air. We'll start at noon on Friday and end at 5pm on Sunday, so you'll have a chance to explore the community around you.
OPTION 1: Attend all three days with guest accommodations $249 plus guest rooms
OPTION 2: Attend all three days without guest accommodations (good for locals or if you plan to stay elsewhere overnight) $249
OPTION 3: Attend Saturday AND Sunday $99 each day
OPTION 4: Attend Saturday OR Sunday $99
WHO CAN ATTEND?
All participants must be over the age of 18 to participate...this is a space for "big kids" (aka adults).
LOCATION
We are pleased to announce that this year's Spring art camp will be held at the beautiful Fort Worden State Park on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

FEES & MEALS
Retreat fees above cover schoolhouse room rental, all materials, instructor fees, and light refreshments. Meals are not included; we have found that it is less expensive for you to prepare your own food. We encourage family-style meals or we can help you find local fare, if you just don't want to take the time to cook (we get that!!!). Fort Worden also offers several food venue options.
We'll have light snacks and drinks available all day in the art space.
OVERNIGHT HOUSING BLOCK
We encourage you to stay overnight to make the most of your chill time. Sleeping arrangements have been made in the groovy "Officer's Row" housing at the park and offer full kitchens and baths. All guest rooms (most private) are in co-ed shared houses for Friday and Saturday nights (2-night minimum; single nights may open up after May 16th based on availability). When registering, you may choose from the following. Guest rooms are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Full payment is required and you must cancel before May 16th in order to receive a refund (this is outside of our standard refund policy).
- Private Queen Room (co-ed shared kitchen+bath) $95 per room, per night (incl. tax)
- Shared Twin Room (co-ed shared kitchen+bath) $65 per PERSON, per night (incl. tax)
There are a limited amount of initial rooms blocked. Additional rooms may be added based on demand and availability.

Art Camp for Big Kids is a program of The Joy Guild, designed for those in need of a creative renaissance or those who want to try a new art medium in a casual and comfortable environment. All skill levels are welcome and no prior art experience is necessary. We just ask that you bring your sense of adventure and your inner child.
