| Description |
Come join us for a dark yet comedic play by local playwright Amy Freed and directed by AtmosTheatre's Artistic Director, Karen Offereins. Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1998, Freedomland tells the story of three estranged siblings and their iconoclastic father in a family showdown which sets off fireworks that illuminate the neurosis, rage and anxiety of one family and of America at the turn of the millenium.
Featuring Dee Baily, Valerie Lynn Brett, Robert Mercer, Evan Miller, Julia Mitchell and Syri Mongiello.
Freedomland's run-time including hike and a 15 minute intermission is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. The hike to the performance locations is just under half a mile. We recommend wearing appropriate shoes for the hike on our trails. As a result of the hike, each adult will need to sign his/her own waiver to make sure you take care of yourself while hiking on our property. Parents/guardians may sign for any accompanying minors.
This play is not suitable for children and may not be suitable for teenagers. We encourage parents to use their discretion.
As always, we are pleased to bring you a unique theatrical experience as part of a leisurely and invigorating hike through Woodside's beautiful redwood forest. You are welcome to come early and picnic at our site beginning at 12pm.
