Renewal in the Wilderness

Unity on the North Shore has joined with Renewal in the Wilderness and its founder, John Lionberger, to offer our community a canoe or kayak trip on the Skokie Lagoons, using Nature as many other spiritual masters have: to bring us closer to God. People have been going to wilderness places for 6,000 years for exactly that purpose, knowing that being in God's creation, rather than man's, is powerfully simple and powerfully spiritual. And it is also just plain powerfully fun.

Equipment: a good hat, sunblock, shoes or sandals that can get wet/muddy, a change of clothes and towel (just in case), windbreaker, inexpensive poncho if it looks like rain, water bottle, snacks. Put loose items in zipper bags.

Lunch: Eat before we depart. Bring snacks and/or sack lunch in zipper bags.
