Ile St. Louis: History, Architecture, & Epicurean Delights
Alliance Francaise of San Francisco San Francisco, CA
Ile-Saint-Louis, an undeveloped terrain used for jousting, washing laundry and fishing in days gone by, is now home to several eateries and gastronomic boutiques. Our itinerary takes you to rue Saint-Louis-en-LIle, where you will find cellar-aged cheeses, fine wines, and other gourmet delicacies. This street, which lies at the heart of the island, also boasts three fine restaurants the most recent of these is owned by Chef Michel del Burgo of Taillevent fame. It is also the location of the most acclaimed ice cream maker in France Berthillon. Join us for a mouthwatering tour of this food-lovers haven.
