A free concert celebrating the Calgary Boys' Choir's 40th Birthday featuring performances by male guest choirs including the Western Hospitality Singers, Calgary Men's Chorus, Il Sono, Corpus Christi Male Chorale and the Supersonic Men's Choir.

The Calgary Boys' Choir is a quality choral program designed for boys, with performance and formative experiences. It develops choral teamwork with lots of fun, friendship and humour. The Calgary Boys Choir is a local tradition of excellence. For 40 years, the choir has proudly attracted young, musically inclined boys who want to explore vocal performance in a fun, welcoming environment. The idea of a boys-only choir is not new. Musical scholars have noted the sound a young boy can make has remarkable clarity and purity, unlike the sound from a mixed chorus. And parents and teachers have noted a young boy's interest in movement, rhythm and humour, the Calgary Boys' choir combines the quality of boy's voices with what interests the boys.
The Celebration of Male Song is a celebration of the Calgary boys' Choir too, and its living heritage in Calgary. Starting on 24th April and culminating in a series of events on the weekend 26-28th April, 2013.

The Calgary Boys' Choir has an important role in Calgary to deliver dynamic, engaging, high quality choral instruction, performance opportunities and formative experiences designed for boys.
