Arts Council of Mendocino County GASP curriculum institute
The Arts Council of Mendocino County Get Arts in the Schools Program (GASP) invites you to join us at the 2nd Annual! Open Eyes, Hearts, Hands and Minds -The Transformative Power of Learning Through the Arts, a day-long integrating the arts across the curriculum institute for teachers and artists:

at Near and Arnold's School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education (SPACE) at 508 West Perkins Street, Ukiah, CA
Building on the success of the first institute, presented by the Arts Council's Get Arts in the School Program (GASP) and sponsored by the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, the August 2013 institute features sessions that explore the elements of art through the visual, performing and multimedia arts. Facilitated by veteran artists and teachers, sessions will introduce model projects that offer tools and resources for integrating the arts into K-12 teaching and learning in the sciences, language arts, math, history and the arts.
The institute features four new inspiring, hands-on sessions focused on bringing the arts into the classroom through Exploring The Water Cycle Through Music, Using Great Artists To Inspire Great Art Experiences, Building Life Skills Through Theater Arts and Hands-On Math Through Fine Woodworking.
The $25 registration fee covers all materials and includes lunch with an optional opportunity to receive professional development credit through Humboldt State University Office of Extended Education or, if you are a Mendocino County teacher or artist, to learn more about the Get Arts in the Schools Program and applying for GASP grants.
