Black Repertory Group presents A Shadow in the Clouds: The Bessie Coleman Story. This is the story of a true pioneer -- Bessie Coleman was not only the first female African-American aviator, she was the first African-American ever to hold an international pilot's license. Unable to get training in America, this determined woman went to Paris to learn to fly and get her pilot's license. To make a living she became a stunt pilot. Known as "Queen Bess," she was popular with black and white audiences for her flamboyant style and daring nature. Black Repertory Group pays tribute to this inspirational figure with a historical stage piece that combines film footage, music and acting from a multi-racial ensemble. You can choose from a number of ticket options, including the Crown Jewel package, which gives you backstage access to meet and greet with the cast
