Seattle Backpackers Magazine Celebration - First American Ascent of Mt Everest

Seattle Backpackers Magazine is proud to host the 50th Anniversary celebration of the first American summit of Mount Everest. The event will take place Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 6:00pm at Cinebarre Theater in Mountlake Terrace, WA. Activities of the evening include:
*Two featured speakers Brian Dickinson and AC Sherpa. These Everest summitters will share their stories about climbing the tallest mountain in the world.
*A giant gear raffle from your favorite outdoor product makers. 100% of raffle proceeds go to our local Search and Rescue volunteers at King County Search and Rescue. ONLY CASH accepted for raffle. Raffle tickets are $1 each, no limit.
*A private screening of High Ground. This documentary movie is a story about overcoming challenges on a mountain and in life. We thought it was appropriate for the celebration.
*A no-host bar
*Light appetizers
*Cover charge is $15 and raffle tickets are $1 each. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to King County Search And Rescue team.
*21 and over event location. Minors not allowed in building.
*Staff from SBM and Search and Rescue will be present so plan on coming early to mingle.
Open to the public while space is available.
