Collidiscope  The Oahu Regional Burn

May 16th through 19th, 2013 at Camp Timberline

Collidiscope is a four day, three night festival in the Waianae Mountains on the beautiful island of Oahu.  Collidiscope will feature art, music, performances, fire, laughter, community and more, all brought to you by YOU.  Come to connect with your Burning Man community, Hawaii style.  Co-create, co-habitate and spread the Burning Man principles like wild fire.

When: Gates open Thursday May 16th at 2:00pm.  Participants need to be off the property by noon on Sunday May 19th.   See details below for Gate hours.

Where: Camp Timberline, 1 Palehua Rd, Kapolei, HI 96707

Directions:
1) H-1 Westbound to Makakilo Exit #2.
2) Turn right and drive up Makakilo Dr. approx. 2.5 miles.
3) Take the second left after the Makakilo Recreation Center onto Kikaha St.
4) Drive straight up Kikaha to the stop sign.
5) Turn left onto Umena St., drive to the end of the road and look for the Camp Timberline sign.
6) You have arrived at the Gate.  Have your ticket and ID available.
7) Drive up the road, approximately 3.5 miles.
8) Take the first left towards the Palehua Solar Observatory and Camp Timberline.
9) Take the next right (between the walls).
10) Turn left at the sign for Camp Timberline's entrance road.
11) Congratulations, you have arrived!

Details:

Gates will be closed each night from 8:00pm to 10:00am.  Please plan to arrive accordingly.

All ages welcome.  Persons under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Absolutely NO pets allowed.

Radical self reliance is in effect.  Bring your own food, water and other supplies you need to survive.  Portos and Luas will be provided throughout the site.

Firewood:  the more you bring, the more we burn.  Fires only allowed in burn barrels and fire pits placed throughout the site.

Leave No Trace:  pack it in, pack it out.  Do not use Camp Timberline's trash or recycling bins.

Cabins:  Cabins are available starting Friday for up to 75 participants. There are four cabins, 16 beds in each. Overflow will be sleeping in the Stables. If you need a cabin for Thursday night, there will be an extra charge of $40. Cabins will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. All other participants, bring your tents!

Thursday arrivals:  Collidiscope will be sharing Camp Timberline with the public on Thursday so participants need to mind our manners.  Quiet time from 11:00pm to 7:00am will be enforced.  The rest of the weekend, the place is ours!

Volunteers:  We need volunteers! Volunteer position descriptions can be found at kapilina.org, click on Collidiscope 2013. If you can spare a couple of hours during the event, please send your name, email, phone# and desired position to volunteers.collidiscope@gmail.com .  Mahalo!

Theme Camps:  If you would like to bring your theme camp (including sound camps), please contact us at themecamps.collidiscope@gmail.com .

Art:  We encourage you to display your interactive art projects throughout the event site.  If you plan on bringing art to display or creating it there, please contact us at artist.collidiscope@gmail.com so we can plan placement accordingly.

Art Grants:  There are art grants available.  If you would like to submit an application for an art grant, please contact us at artist.collidiscope@gmail.com .

Performance and Workshops:  If you would like to bring your performance or workshop to Collidiscope, contact us at artist.collidiscope@gmail.com and we will start preparing a schedule, although impromptu interactiveness is highly encouraged as well.  There is a covered pavilion that can be used for workshops, talks, yoga, dance/flow classes, live music, performances as well as any other open space you can find.  Share your passion with others!

Fire Performers:  If you plan on spinning fire, please contact us at artist.collidiscope@gmail.com for planning and insurance purposes.

Tikkits:  Tikkits are on sale NOW through May 1st. Tikkits are $85 through May 1st and $95 at the Gate.
Credit/debit cards only for Gate tikkit sales. NO CASH!!! There is a 175 person cap, so get your tikkit early.
