KDNY Presents "Gravity of Distraction"
The KDNY Dance Company is thrilled to present "Gravity of Distraction," the newest piece that will debut as part of their 15th Annual New York Season.
KDNY discovers through pushing and pulling that the gravity of Distraction leads to comic entanglements and riveting abstraction - all those unfinished thoughts furtive and luminous - are finally full of promise.
This repertory evening with three premieres will include live music from the Cadillac Moon Ensemble, composed by Cristina Spinei. The Cadillac Moon Ensemble is comprised of Patty Kilroy on violin, Roberta Michel on flute, Meaghan Burke on cello, and Sean Statser on percussion.
Composer Cristina Spinei joins KDNY for the fifth consecutive year, and pianist Monica Horn will perform live with the company for the first time since 2000.
The evening will include performances including the newest piece, "Gravity of Distraction" and the invert, "Distraction of Gravity," as well as repertory pieces such as "Formula."
Performances will take place Thursday, May 2 through Saturday, May 4, 7:30pm at Ailey Citigroup Theater, 55th St and 9th Ave. General Admission tickets are $20, Students/Senior $15.
