A Taste of Africa Cooking Class in Madison, WI
Join Otehlia Cassidy and Assitou N"Diaye as they lead you in learning to cook traditional and fusion West African Cuisine--for a great cause. Hands-on participation is possible but optional. Generous tastings included!!
The Meal will include: - West African Peanut Stew (vegetarian) - Jollof Rice w/ Lamb(West African seasoned rice) - Red, Gold and Green Salad with goat cheese and citrus dressing - Fried Plantain with Pepper sauce - Ginger Drink - Easy Mango "Ice Cream"
Mali is fighting Islamist rebels in the north who have imposed a harsh form of Islamic law that has lead to a humanitarian and food crisis.
Celebrate the culture of Mali through it's food, and help raise money for two organizations, Doctors without Borders and Oxfam, that are working to help bring food and medical care to Malians displaced and affected by the war in the north.
DATE: Monday March 25 6-9 pm LOCATION: Willy Street Coop east COST: $40/person, 20% goes to help relief efforts. Additional donations accepted.
