HOSTED BY: Ceeze Liive (not a typo :) ) A long time friend of Urban Mtn. Voices, Ceeze has been featured at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, Madison Square Garden, The Chicago Theater, and the Saban Theater in Los Angeles. She has represented Urban Word NYC and the Philly Youth Poetry Movement as a slam team member at the Brave New Voices national youth slam poetry competition. Her solo show "Ma Heels" was featured in the 2010 Hip Hop Theater Festival in NYC. She's been reviewed in the New York Times, Bronx Times and the Daily News. Ceeze also made her debut as an actor in the indy film "Gun Hill Road" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where in 2009 she performed as a poet. Featured Performers: NYC Youth Poet Laureate Ashley August, and Malcom Wicks from the Urban Word NYC Slam team; the Philly Youth Poetry Movement national Slam team along with East Stroudsburg High School teen poets representing Urban Mountain Voices.
SPECIAL GUEST: ADAM FALKNER Nationally acclaimed writer, poet and high school English teacher, Adam Faulkner has appeared on HBO and BET, Michigan and New York Public Radio. His work has appeared in Painted Bride Quarterly, The Literary Bohemian, The Other Journal, Time Out New York, and decomP Magazine among numerous other publications. He is also the Executive Director of the Dialogue Arts Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to incorporating creative writing and intergroup dialogue into the teaching and training processes. He currently teaches 10th grade Creative Writing at the Academy for Young Writers in Brooklyn.
