2nd Annual Matchbox Art Auction Gala
SmaLL ReSOURces = BIG poSsiBiliTIEs
This event was inspired by a matchbox in January, 2011. Working with only a shoe string budget, "Small Resources=Big Possibilities" became the guiding vision that lead NCAS-I to partner with international organizations across the globe in an effort to bring art therapy to at-risk children and women. The theme was expanded when we began distributing small muslin bags containing a matchbox and a few inspirational items to local artists and asking them to create a matchbox inspired art piece. Last year we had over 100 artists commit to creating a piece, and this year we will have even more. These pieces will be auctioned at the Small Resources = Big Possibilities Matchbox Gala and Art Auction event on April 12th, 2013. This powerful project brings together a community of artists and friends alike toward a common goal - to "spark change", by spreading the power of art therapy like wildfire across the globe. All proceeds benefit NCASI's service learning work in Cambodia with women and youth.
