Brother From Another Planet - 2013 Langston Hughes African American Film Festival - Opening Night
The 10th anniversary of the African American Film Festival is a time to celebrate the achievements this compelling and engaging festival. This festival opens with a showing of the historic Brothers from another Planet, which launched Joe Morton's career who will be in attendance.
BROTHER FROM ANOTHER PLANET John Sayles' Brother From Another Planet is the story of a mute alien (Joe Morton) who crash lands his space ship just off Ellis Island. The film takes surprising turns as the brother learns more about this new world, through the lens of his own experience of racism, class struggles, crime, and drugs. A true sci-fi classic, Sayles notes, "Brother is about the immigrant experience of assimilation." 90 minutes. Award winning Actor Joe Morton scheduled to attend.
