Bharata Natyam (South Indian Classical Dance) Summer Classes for children and Teens ages 7 - 17. Classes are for boys and girls who wish to learn in this intensive structured summer session. Parents may register their child for 5 weeks or for 8 weeks. Children's classes will take place 3 times per week. Parents should register their child by June 23.
SUMMER SESSION INTRODUCTION TO BHARATA NATYAM (SOUTH INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday Adavu (foot work) Session: 10am-11:30am Youngsters will go through a rigorous rhythmic training of foot work and hand gestures while creating an awareness of the left and right hemisphere of the body. Students will develop a deep concentration and learn how to see and learn movement.
BREAK: 11:30- 11:45
Theory Session: 11:45am- 12:30pm Students will learn Single and Double handed Hastas (hand gestures), Bedhas for the eyes, neck and standing postures, guru mantra (prayer) and class etiquette. (Students must bring a note book). 5 weeks: June 30 - August 1 / $450 * 8 weeks: June 30 - August 22 / $690 * register by June 23
NOTE: No-one under 7 years old will be admitted.
