Yoonu Aduna / The Path Of Life
"In Africa, dance is the traditional expression of individual and collective emotions."
Join us as we celebrate life through an exceptional cultural and educational experience. Rejuvenate the mind, energize the body, heal the soul and learn choreographed African dances movements. Workshops will welcome international and local artists: Idy Ciss, Assane Kouyate, Aminata Mane, Titos Sompa, Marie Basse Wiles With several classes offered throughout the week-end; come enjoy a great workout at the sound of live African drumming with Marwan Amen-Ra, Assane Mbaye, Cheikh Ndong, Jeff Nzoma, Alioune "Mousse" Sarr, Baba Uche.
At the concert witness the beauty of traditional African life experience. Yoonu Aduna will feature Detroit own Naniou Djapo,Thiossane, and showcase vibrant performances of Rowe Niodior African Dance Company stellar cast with special guests.
Rowe Niodior is an African dance company founded in 2008 and dedicated to the African Culture.Our aim is to become a living crossroad where people with different perspectives find common ground through performances, movements, cultural exchange and education. We want to uphold the legacy of African cultural heritage, forge closer ties between the African continent and the Diaspora, and reinvigorate the Detroit community.
