Haute Plans Workshop - Make Your Idea A Reality: What You Need To Know For Developing A Successful Fashion Brand

Are you an aspiring or new fashion or jewelry designer who's ready to FINALLY get that dream into action? Maybe you have put those fabulous design ideas on the shelf while telling yourself, you'll eventually get to that big idea of having and growing your own collection? Or maybe you're not sure of how to take your designs to the next level. Well, make 2013 the year when you finally begin to get a plan in order to bring those designs to life.

On April 8th and April 9th, fashion insiders Martu E. Freeman and Naima Turner, along with Entrepreneur Works,  will hold a two-day workshop for aspiring fashion and jewelry designers offering advice on how to create a game plan to get you on the right path for your design brand in 2013.

In the Fashion Production part of the workshop, the attendee will learn how to:

- Document apparel production resources, textile suppliers, product developers, manufacturers, and retailers.
- Analyze the role of production in sourcing for trims, textiles, cost and pricing.
- Understand sourcing formats and trends in business planning and consumer market.
- Gain an understanding for all the activities involved in creating an apparel line.
- Identify key partnerships and steps to development of a successful Apparel Line in today's market.

In the Fashion Branding part of the workshop, the topics discussed will include:

- Your Fashion Brand Vs. Their Fashion Brand:How to Define Your Brand & Stand Apart From Competition.
- What Goes Into Building A Fashion Brand
- You Have Established Your Brand Image, So Now What?
- Social Media, Marketing & PR: How Will You Present & Promote Your Fashion Brand?

Martu E. Freeman @meflovesfashion    

In December 1999, Martu E. Freeman established M.E.F. Productions a consultant agency to the fashion Industry. Ms. Freeman attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Consumer Services/ Fashion Merchandising. She continued her education at the American College in London (London campus) and went on to gain experience from many nationally recognized fashion companies including Polo Ralph Lauren, The Limited, J. Crew, Victoria Secret Catalogue, Urban Outfitter's, Polo Jeans, Gap Inc, Carter's and Conde Nast Publications.

Currently based out of Miami, M.E.F. Productions offers a wide range of services to businesses and individuals in the fashion Industry in effort to develop effective strategies that fit within their goals and budget. Such services include: product line development, brand strategies, concept development, fabric and trim sourcing and apparel production.

Naima Turner @stylsimplystate        

Having worked in various parts of the fashion industry in New York City, Ms. Turner has gained exceptional experience in both branding and media. Her resume includes: market editing; working behind-the-scenes, styling and assisting with the production of fashion segments for national television shows.

While working for her mentor and former boss, Lloyd Boston, she was introduced to the literary world and worked with him in building his brand. Her book credits include: senior researcher for Boston's second book, Make Over Your Man (Broadway Books); and for his third book, Before You Put That On (Atria), Ms. Turner created the book title and styled the book's cover. Before You Put That On which also includes an interview with Ms. Turner where she offers insight on shopping characteristics. Prior to that, Ms. Turner worked as a fashion publicist in NYC.

Currently, Ms. Turner's daily conversations with publicists of leading fashion brands, are centered around getting the word out to savvy fashionista consumers. As a fashion and style expert brand herself, Ms. Turner pens stories for various platforms which include her site, Style Pooh-Bahs, and a weekly Celebrity Style column on uptownmagazine.com. In addition, Ms. Turner currently has a weekly radio segment called the Style Groove Report with Naima Turner on Soulful Sunday with Dyana Williams and Derrick Sampson on 100.3 WRNB, a Radio One network affiliate.

Naima Turner is a graduate of the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York City.
