Ethical Meat
Vital Awareness: The Epicurean and the Activist and Emory Dining/Food EU are teaming up to host an informative and interesting evening dedicated to the benefits of raising, buying and consuming humane meat.
The night will begin with a short presentation by Vital Awareness, a local Atlanta advocacy group dedicated to educating consumers about the damaging effects of Factory Farming on our environment, our health and above all animal welfare; whilst at the same time promoting farms and farmers who are producing quality ethically raised livestock.
The presentation will be followed by an expert panel of farmers and suppliers who share in the commitment to offer consumers "Ethical Meat". We are delighted to have Will Harris (White Oak Pastures), George Cooke (Cook Cattle Company and Farm Burger), Benji Anderson (Anderson Farms) Rusty Bowers (Pine Street Market)and Birke Baehr (Farming Advocate, public speaker and author). There will also be time for questions and answers so the audience can pick the brains of these highly knowledgable individuals.
The evening shall round itself off with a sample tasting of "Ethical Meat" and a butchery demonstration.
We look forward to your attendance to what promises to be an educational and fascinating evening.
