Teressa is a classically-trained coloratura soprano and union actress who performs professionally in opera, musical theater, concert, non-musical stage and independent film, with occasional forays into commercial work and variety entertainment.

Teressa has sung and danced in front of a seemingly-vertical wall of 17,000 patrons at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (splashing across the JumboTron screen in a bright red silk evening gown); sung in recital for the US Ambassador to Malta and embassy guests at the Ambassadorial Residence in Valetta;  donned Dickensian costumes in both snowy upstate New York, and desert-dry Los Angeles;  belted out showtunes and pop songs in sequined gowns aboard Caribbean- & mid-Pacific-bound cruiseships; sung Italian opera arias in front of Sicilian first-chair musicians, who liked it (if their tapping their bows on their music stands and stomping their feet is any indication)!  Aside from the enormity of the Bowl, she has performed in all kinds of theatres, from 99 seats to 1,800 seats, from outdoor venues to traditional proscenium to "three-quarter thrust" to "in-the-round".

***Shelly Welch - Coloratura Soprano***

From there Shelly became a member of Cantate Guam where she was able to tour with the group in China in 2001, the United States East Coast in 2002, with a stop to sing at Lincoln Center in New York City. She also performed as a soloist in Cantate Guam's performance of Handel's The Messiah. She has since moved to California where she is happy to be able to study and perform the music that she loves.

Shelly is currently a concert artist in The Franzen Vocal Studio Galas. Through these performances, she has been able to do extensive work studying and performing operatic arias and scenes from a great selection of operas including Madama Butterfly, Romeo et Juliette, I Puritani, Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Lucia di Lammermoor, Hamlet, and I Capuleti e I Montecchi.
