The past couple weeks have brought some of the biggest stars of the 60's folk revival back to Lena's stage. Tonight we cap off this glorious run with the great folksinger and songwriter Sylvia Tyson of Ian & Sylvia, accompanied by violinist Scarlet Rivera

Ian & Sylvia penned and popularized folk classics such as Someday Soon, Four Strong Winds, and Sylvia's You Were On My Mind, which was a huge pop hit in 1965 by the band We Five. The song had a recent resurgence of popularity when it was recorded by Steve Earle and Shawn Colvin in 2016.

Scarlet Rivera is well known for her slashing violin accompaniment on Bob Dylans 1975 album Desire and as a member of his Rolling Thunder Review tour.

Tyson joined the burgeoning Toronto folk music scene in 1959 as a teenager. The 60's brought monster global success for the duo she formed with Ian Tyson. She has remained an active touring musician for her entire adult life, serving as a mentor to successive generations of songwriters and a beloved solo artist and band member in her own right.

Rivera followed her time in Dylan's band with important work as a composer and recording artist. Unusually expansive in her range, she has met with success in instrumental, new-age, Celtic and world music. She has recorded and performed with Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, Kori Linae Carothers, Keb Mo and many others. She has featured as a soloist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Carnival of Venice.
