This story of reconciliation and forgiveness is based on a true story of a Palestinian teenager who moves with his family to Germany from a refugee camp in Lebanon. Egged on by thuggish friends in the neighborhood, he breaks into the upstairs apartment of an elderly Russian Jewish widower who has lived in the working class neighborhood for 30 years. The only way to avoid deportation is for the teen to repair his neighbor's flat. An uneasy association beginning with resentment and mistrust on both sides takes the viewer on a journey of guilt, tolerance, forgiveness and healing.
