Collaborative Leadership & Getting Unstuck
Chances are that you've been frustrated by some kind of initiative that seems 'stuck.' And chances are that if you're stuck, it's not because you're squaring off against the laws of nature. Instead, its regular old human beings and their behaviors that stand between you and your goals. Come learn the basics of a robust approach to effective influence, the necessary ingredient to successful organizational or personal change, based on thirty years of research. Examples will be drawn from data provided by participants via survey in advance.

This session would examine the unique role a public school foundation can play to link schools to community for the mutual benefit of students, their families and the wider community. Presenters will be Community Learning Center Coordinators from SLCSD and will include experiential "best practice" on building community based and focused relationships to support schools and students.Participants will be leave the presentation with practical examples of tried and true methods to drive "cold" conversations to an understanding of the unique issues facing public education and to an eventual commitment of partnership.
A Capital City Education: The Building of a Community Campaign to Support Public Education
This session will take participants through the stages of campaign development from grass roots engagement to fully recognized alliance partnerships that benefit pre-K-12 students. The session will discuss the long term sustainability of relationships. Participant will leave the presentation with "best practice" lessons learned by the campaign alliance from such potential funders as the Lumina Foundation, National League of Cities, and private funding sources.
