ALL AGES - TICKETS AVAILABLE STARTING 2/18/13
Graham Parsons and the Go Rounds with special guests Lasso and Birdfingers will rock the stage at Watermark 920 (920 Washington Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441) on March 22, 2013, at 6pm via the concert series, Inside The Mitten.
Born out of the lakeshore city of Muskegon, Inside The Mitten is a concert showcase of Michigan-based musical acts that put their experiences of the peninsulas to music. Inside The Mitten was created and is hosted by Watermark Live with concerts held at Watermark 920. Artists are not chosen based on genre, rather they are chosen because they exhibit rare potential.
Graham Parsons and the Go Rounds, The music of this group comes as a fully realized fusion of everything Parsons has toyed with for years as a staple of the Michigan music community: folk, art rock, country, and rock n' roll. The live ensemble is rooted in the Kalamazoo music collective Double Phelix: a tight knit group of multi-instrumentalists who have honed their chops as a creative recording unit. The band will include horns, strings, multiple drummers, keyboards players, and the glorious harmonies of some of the finest singers you've never heard of. Graham Parsons and the Go Rounds.
Lasso, bringing to the stage his amazing solo recordings producer and multi-instrumentalist, Andy Catlin, is sure to rock the night. Using various artists and their musical talents, Catlin invents a mix of psychedelic rock, country, ambient, and expiremental. This Kalamazoo native toys with the use of lo-fi and reverb and brings with him the most unique of instrumentalities and vocals. From the first song to the last, Catlin won't have you anything less than excited. Lasso.
Birdfingers, Birdfingers is a collaboration between songwriter Bennett Young and other members of Kalamazoo's Double Phelix collective. With help from many different artists all across the board, Birdfingers creates a unique mix of country, rock, folk, jazz, and psychedelic rock. With the creative ideas of Bennett Young and his work with many other great minds from the Double Phelix label, the songs and beautiful notes are sure to leave you wanting more. Birdfingers.
Through a structured, moderated discussion, Graham Parsons and the Go Rounds will not only perform, but in Inside The Mitten fashion, they will expound on every facet of what it has taken them to get where they are. The evening will be moderated by Lou Jeannot, Co-Founder of Mux Rec and conducted through his ability to capture candid and insightful conversation.
