This powerful and moving documentary depicts the journey of Robi Damelin, a mother who lost her younger son David to a Palestinian sniper's bullet while he was manning a military checkpoint in the West Bank in 2003. A native of South Africa, Damelin returns home to learn how that country embarked on a quest to achieve forgiveness and reconciliation after decades of bloodshed and opposition.
Robi ventures between South Africa and Israel, meeting with victims, perpetrators and leaders of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu. This thought-provoking journey, through South Africa past and present, shows Robi that even from a place of pain one can see a glimmer of hope.
A question and answer session will follow this film (speaker to be announced).
