Amira's Belly Dance Spectacular V
On Saturday, May 4 at 6 pm, join Amira and friends for the fifth annual Belly Dance Spectacular! This year, the show features Nath Keo and the Sacred Centre Dance Company. Nath Keo hails from Victoria, BC where is is Artistic Director and Choreographer for the Sacred Centre Dance Company. Nath Keo was born in Kav Lan Refugee Camp on the border of Thailand and Cambodia and immigrated to Canada at the age of nine. In the years since immigrating to Canada, his work has been celebrated internationally as a writer, dancer, singer/songwriter, and model. In 2006, Nath was ordained as a Bikkhu Theravada Buddhist Monk at Wat Tuol Taong, Cambodia. Nath Keo's Sacred Centre Method is the product of his extensive training in Middle Eastern Dance, Cambodian Cultural and Martial Arts and his study of Theravada Buddhist practices and philosophy.
The show also features the fabulous Atasha Manila, Amira's Dancers, Anar Dana, Mirabai, Tina Sparkle, Katia & Raks Maleka, Mellilah & the New Moon Belly Dance Troupe, Khan el Khalili and more!
The show runs for two hours plus a brief intermission. Refreshments available, your donations are appreciated.
All proceeds from the show support Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA).
