Ah...Love! Captured Aural Phantasy Theater presents The Sex, Love and Comic Books Show at the historic El Cid for 1 night only! Experience the many facets of love through CAPT's signature variety show format that includes radio show-style performances of 50's and 60's romance comic books and other pop culture gems, with sultry singing, stunning visual art, short acts, prizes, and live music!
Romance comic books outsold nearly all other genres in the mid-20th Century, including superhero comics. These books offered tawdry tales of heartache and redemption as well as practical romantic advice. We bring select masterpieces of these classics to modern audiences in the Sex, Love and Comic Books Show, including titles such as 1969's "My Mother, The Mantrap" and 1962's "The Irresistible Lois Lane!"
The Sex, Love and Comic Books Show is the first in Captured Aural Phantasy Theater's new monthly residency at El Cid. Revel in El Cid's 100 year-plus history while enjoying a brand new tapas menu and superb cocktails.
