Jean Ritchie, the lyrical voice of Appalachia, was a folksinger, songwriter, and mountain dulcimer and banjo player. Over the years she shared hundreds of traditional songs from her native Appalachia and in the process helped ignite the folk song revival of the mid-20th century. She performed jointly with some of the best-known names in folk music, including Pete Seeger and Doc Watson and was a staple at Caffe Lena in the 1960s.

Tonight we will celebrate the legacy of Jean Ritchie. For this very special show, Jean's son Jon Pickow joins award winning vocalist Susie Glaze, renowned fiddler Kenny Kosek, and Grammy nominated folk musician, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dan Schatz. These musicians all performed on the internationally acclaimed double album 'Dear Jean: Artists Celebrate Jean Ritchie' and will join forces at Caffe Lena to remember the life of this influential musician.
