Solstice CD Release Concert and Celebration
Come celebrate the long-awaited release of "Rise", the new cd by San Francisco Bay Area a cappella group, Solstice. After winning the Bay Area Regional Championship and placing third nationally at the prestigious Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Competition last year, the women of Solstice hurried into the recording studio to capture their latest eclectic mix of music for women's voices. At long last, the fruits of their labor are unveiled!
The CD release celebration will feature a concert of songs from the new album as well as old favorites and new selections. The performance will be followed by a reception with refreshments and a prize raffle. Come and enjoy the beautiful acoustic of the St. Gregory's sanctuary and the warmth of food and friends.
Solstice has enthralled audiences with their technically precise and passionate treatment of music for women's voices since 1996. Each Solstice member brings her own musical tastes and talents to the group, which creates a diverse, dynamic repertoire. From Bartok to Bjork, from Palestrina to Paul Simon, Solstice shares the music they love from around the world and throughout the ages. Solstice includes members Emily Bender, Becca Burrington, Lark Coryell, Krista Enos, Mari Marjamaa, Kim Warsaw, and Sara Webb-Schmitz.
