DreamDance Asheville
About
DreamDance is an evolution of Ecstatic Dance on the 3rd Saturday of every month. We are about celebrating life and community by moving together as One. Beginning February 16, 2013, our local dance community of DreamDance Asheville will move in Sync with DreamDance Seattle.
The music is artfully crafted by the musicians and shaped by the energy output of the dancers. It is designed with a slow building trajectory, including a variety of genres from sacred world and medicine songs to classics and cutting edge genre bending electronica. We hope to include sacred instruments to enhance the sonic journey.
We are currently collaborating with painters, metal sculptures, contact dancers, yogis, and plenty more inspiring community members. As an initial social spiritual experiment, we see the potential for this dance to evolve with us over time. We welcome and encourage your feedback along the way. If you feel compelled to collaborate with us or have other artistic heart offerings to contribute, please reach out.

Music
Maurice Legendre aka Morphonic, brings a variety of broken-beat, dub, and world fusion sounds to his sets. With a background in dance, Morphonic selects songs with a lot of 'food for movement' that provide an emotionally as well as physically stimulating experience. The wave formula provides a great foundation to move through many genres of electronic beats. Expect to hear soulful dub, glitch, dub-step, electro-swing, breaks, world and tribal electronic sounds, ambient bass music and much more. Morphonic focuses on creating a transformational musical experience that encourages total surrender to the inspired movements of the body.
Artist
Nikki Moon has been oil painting since the age of eight and continues to explore and express through photography, painting, drawing, jewelry, and ceramics.Since 2004 Nikki has been the Director & Arts Facilitator for a non-profit called MOVE (Making Our Voices Empowered) www.moveyoutharts.org.
