The Motherlode: Songs and Stories from the Vein
In this 2nd annual event, two women artists share their personal journeys as mothers and daughters by intertwining original compositions with traditional stories and personal narrative. They will sound a harmony of contrasts-- lullaby and lament, challenge and comfort. Come for a creative remembering of the deep maternal connection of past, present and future. This is an evening for the mother/child in all of us to be cradled in the arms of song and story.
Olive Hackett-Shaughnessy with 21 years experience as professional storyteller in San Francisco and beyond, is also a writer, a teacher and consultant with a unique ability to share her passion for the power of stories to awaken the imagination and empathy of adults and children. She gives lively performances and conducts interactive and practical workshops which spring from her repertoire of over two hundred stories and her daily practice as a wandering bard from nursery school through university. Her mastery of an ancient art form expresses universal themes in the distinct voices of a multicultural oral tradition. Olive has traveled to Sweden and Mexico to join an international conversation on value of storytelling as a healing art. www. olivestoryteller.com For more information, visit www.olivestoryteller.com
