African Drumming Intensive Workshop
This afternoon/evening workshop will be a hands-on introduction for participants to an assortment of West African drums and musical instruments. During the course of the workshop, we will rotate through many instruments and parts of the African drumming circle so participants gain a concept of the whole process as well as familiarity with each of the parts. As in many things, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
There will be a campfire at sunset and the drum circle will continue after dark when external vision recedes, and both internal 'vision' and auditory and non-verbal sensitivity increases.
