Dancing for a Cause: A Night of Hi-hats, Heels and Helping the Arts
Jubilee Arts invites you to its second annual dance fundraiser - Dancing for a Cause. It's a night you won't forget, showcasing the beautiful dances birthed in the streets of Harlem and adapted throughout our nation. These dances are taught at Jubilee Arts as a way to preserve and revive the legacy of arts in the African-American community and specifically in the venues that once resided on historic Pennsylvania Avenue in West Baltimore.

There will be two floors of amazing dancing - one showcasing the styles of Chicago Step, Hand Dance and Line Dance while a second floor will be a nonstop party for those who like to freely move to the rhythms of contemporary and old school R&B, Hip Hop and House music. The event will also include a light buffet, silent auction items, door prizes and performances by special guests.

All proceeds of the event will benefit Jubilee Arts, a community arts program offering affordable, quality arts and culture opportunities to people of all ages in the underserved communities of west Baltimore. Jubilee Arts partners with Baltimore Clayworks and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) as well as local artists to provide classes in a variety of visual and performing arts, showcase art exhibits, host forums, facilitate public community art projects and events.

Jubilee Arts is a program of the community based nonprofit Newborn Holistic Ministries, which addresses poverty related challenges in Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester and Upton communities. Newborn has responded with a mission to preserve and enrich life in these communities by providing services that enable residents to meet their material, social, and spiritual needs through its Jubilee Arts and Martha's Place programs.
