44th Annual Eastern Region Karate Championship (ERKC)

The Eastern Regional Karate Championship (ERKC) is an open tournament available to any martial arts practitioner. It is a national tournament sponsored by TKA and is held once a year in April. Competitors are divided by age and belt rank. The categories of competition include kata, fighting, one-step, and weapons. The competition is held on a Saturday at Montgomery College. The black belt judges are volunteers from a variety of martial arts schools.
Competition begins at 10:00 AM in the gymnasium of the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College. Trophies awarded for Grand Champions, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in kata, kumite, and one-step sparring.
