The Accidentals wsg Billy Strings & Don Julin and Blake Elliott
The Sola Gratia Music Series is excited to bring another great night of music to life for you. The concert series, founded in October of 2009 strives to bring justice and hope to life through great music while raising money and awareness for community and justice issues. On this night music lovers will be blessed by the hearts and talent of The Accidentals. Tagging along and performing as well will be their good friends, Billy Strings & Don Julin plus Blake Elliott.
The Accidentals began in October 2011 when Katie Larson (16) and Savannah Buist (17) met in the Philharmonic Orchestra at Traverse City West Senior High. While working on a quartet project they realized they had everything in common...the same love of quirky music and strange instruments, both their fathers were pianists and their mothers were singers, they both played several instruments, and more importantly, they both loved to write. They soon discovered that their voices were made for one another.
They wrote thirteen songs in two weeks and recorded their first CD of original material three months later. They have been booked solid ever since. They have played for thousands of people on live television, opened for Anna Quinlen at the National Writer Series, and their music has been played on several local radio stations.
All profits from the evening will support the work of the Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center which is on the cutting edge of the identification, treatment, awareness, and prevention of the sexual and physical abuse of children. Their work is truly remarkable and it is a joy to be partnering with them on this evening. For more information on the CAC go to www.traversebaycac.org.
