Anthony Tommasini, New York Times
The New York Times Jenny Lin returns to HOH to celebrate her newest release, Get Happy. Ms. Lin is one of the most respected young pianists today, admired for her adventurous programming and charismatic stage presence. Her concerts have taken her to Symphony Space, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, MoMA, the Kennedy Center, the Salle Cortot in Paris, and festivals worldwide. Get Happy is a collection of familiar show tunes and new arrangements. The result is a tribute not just to Lin's clever programming and impeccable pianism, but also to the many arrangers commissioned, including André Previn, Stephen Hough, and Marc-André Hamelin. The program is organized around the work of Stephen Hough (Carousel Waltz, March of the Siamese Children, My Favorite Things, and Hello, Young Lovers) and Earl Wild (all GershwinI Got Rhythm, Embraceable You, and Fascinatin' Rhythm).
