Screening: Town of Runners Film - the Development of Olympic Champions in Ethiopia
The Ethiopian track competitors have astounded the world through the years at their success worldwide, including at the 2012 Olympics. The 90 minute film, "Town of Runners", was first aired in the United Kingdom during the 2012 Summer Olympics. Now we have the opportunity to see the film for ourselves in Minnesota!
Join us at Minnehaha Academy, South Campus Chapel, Minneapolis, at 3 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2013, for a screening of this film. We also anticipate the opportunity of a live Skype interview with the film's producer, Dan Demissie.
Tickets are $15 through BrownPaperTickets for adults, or $17 at the door. For those 17 and under, the cost is $10 through BrownPaperTickets, or $12 at the door. Invite your friends, family and classmates!
Proceeds will be donated towards literacy and track projects in Ethiopia. Excerpts from the film may be previewed at www.townofrunners.com.
This event is sponsored by the Minnesota Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (MNRPCVs), and supported by Ethiopia Reads.
