Sunday Concert with An Dochas and the Haran Irish Dancers
An Dochas, Gaelic for "The Hope", captivates audiences of all ages with their lively interpretation of traditional Irish music. The band members' individual cultural and musical backgrounds culminate in a sound that is as dynamic as it is poignant. With a foundation of authentic instrumentation Uileann pipes, bodhran, fiddle, mandolin and guitar the band blends new and old, elegantly incorporating contemporary sounds into their diverse repertoire. Moving vocals, rife with loss, longing, energy, and adventure are layered with familiar and original melodies. Audiences are inspired as they hear the music of An Dochas and feel the sorrow, the joy, and The Hope.
Three of the top Haran Irish dancers make up a touring troop that travel with An Dochas, performing fantastic, energetic shows all over the country and beyond. In recent years our dancers have traveled to performances in Japan and Austria and to the Irish Dance World Championships in Ireland.
