High Tunnels for Winter and Spring Greens Production
Brix Bounty Farm systems include growing in unheated greenhouses and managing soil nutrition. This workshop will cover techniques for growing high quality greens for winter and early spring markets, with emphasis on optimum timing for harvests, wintertime bio-inoculants, crop monitoring, and maintaining full spectrum fertility. Marketing discussion will emphasize how farms can build broader markets and year-round connections with CSA membership.
Instructor: Derek Christianson farms at Brix Bounty Farm. The farm takes advantage of the mild climate on the South coast for growing greens in winter.
