That's Not Right... A Mistaken Cabaret
Imagine you're a queer little 15-year-old boy growing up in New Jersey. Once you've gotten over the fact that you're growing up in New Jersey and you're not living in a Penthouse on the Upper East Side, take a look around. You're bored! The mimosas are gone and Celine Dion hasn't played the East coast in 10 years, so you have got nothing to do. What do you, an average fifteen-year-old boy, find to entertain yourself? Why, the film soundtrack of Cabaret starring Liza Minnelli, of course! Now belt! Belt to your heart's content!
Such is the story of my life. I have been driven, inspired, and moved by the great female divas of the 20th century, and all I want is to join their ranks. Unfortunately, no one will let me sing their songs because of this pesky, exceptionally large penis of mine. So I'm marching directly out of Ripley Grier, all the way up to the Upper West Side to appeal to the people who will truly appreciate me- gay men over the age of 50. And you!
