Learn to grow your own delicious and prized culinary shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes). Marvelous mushrooms contribute to our health and a well-functioning ecosystem.
This inaugural workshop will include an overview on what fungi are, what they need, how they grow, and why they are important for our ecosystem. Participants will take home one shiitake inoculated log created with the plug spawn technique and valuable handouts with resources!
Inoculating logs will happen outside. Bring gloves and weather-appropriate clothes/shoes. Also, bring sack lunch.
