FLAWED GENIUS
"Barnaby King is very, very funny. While he courts chaos in the form of audience interaction, he continually turns it into improvised comic gold." (The Oregonian, 2007)
"Wrenchingly funny a riveting piece of theatre. We'd call it pure genius." (Winnipeg Sun)
"A masterful piece of clowning. Never has self-loathing and cosmic ennui been so entertaining and oddly moving...a thinking person's clown for the new millennium" (Edmonton Journal, 2004)
FLAWED GENIUS is a heart-achingly funny story of lost love and frustrated ambition, created with Canadian clown guru Sue Morrison. Combining decayed vaudeville glamour, the pathos of a beleagured Chaplin, unpredictable audience interaction and dark British humour in an exploration of the life's glories and failures, every show is a unique theatrical experience.
Barnaby King is a performer of physical comedy and clown, theatre director and teacher based in Portland, Oregon. He has performed and taught all over the world, from India to South America, and He is also a published writer and is currently writing a book about clowning with his clown mentor Sue Morrison.
