Trans Awareness Event: "I Stand Corrected" Viewing
Trans Awareness Event (TAE) of Alliant International University, Los Angeles

Alliant International University is proud to present the documentary "I Stand Corrected" in celebration of transgender people's lives and in recognition of the important place they have in our families, circle of friends, and communities.

I STAND CORRECTED charts jazz musician Jennifer Leitham's extraordinary rise to the top as a "virtuoso of the upright bass." John Leitham built a career by playing with some of the best, (Mel Torme', Doc Severinsen, Woody Herman), and then had to rebuild it as Jennifer Leitham.
The documentary explores Leitham's enlightening story of success and survival, of betrayal and compassion, and the risks one takes to embrace who they truly are. Directed and produced by Andrea Meyerson, the film has won multiple awards from juries and audiences across the USA.

This special transgender awareness event (TAE) will benefit two local community organizations that serve transgender people and their families  Gender Justice LA (GJLA) and Transforming Family (TF). The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with a wine and cheese reception in the lobby, followed by a screening of the film in the auditorium (starting at 7:00 PM). A brief Q&A session with Andrea Meyerson (filmmaker), Jennifer Leitham (jazz musician featured in the film), and representatives of the benefiting organizations will follow. Tickets to go on sale shortly, so mark your calendars for Monday, February 11th for this special benefit performance. CE credit for attending this educational event will be provided to licensed mental health professionals at no additional cost.
