Morsel Combat: A Food Event Fighting Hunger

Morsel Combat is a community cook off that features samples of delicious creations crafted by central Iowa's top chefs in a friendly, healthy competition. Unlike most food competitions, Morsel Combat chefs, are required to create a meal that is 650 calories or less and 20 grams of fats or less. Winning chefs will be chosen by local celebrity judges at Embassy Suites Hotel Des Moines Downtown on April 26, 2013, beginning at 6:00pm.

While the event is designed to be fun, it carries a very serious mission: fighting hunger. Sponsorship proceeds raised from this event will be donated to Meals from the Heartland to help them with the mission of "Empowering people to save the starving."

Meals from the Heartland is a home-grown Iowa organization whose mission is to fight hunger here in Iowa and worldwide. Their efforts provide millions of meals annually which are packaged by volunteers here in Iowa and shipped locally, domestically, and around the globe.
