Steel City Roller Derby TRYOUTS
Tryouts for Steel City Roller Derby will be held on Sunday, January 20th at 6 pm, at Romp n Roll. There will be a skating skills portion, and an interview portion. Expect to be at Romp n Roll for no longer than three (3) hours. Please be FULLY prepared with all safety equipment - helmet, mouthguard, wristguards, knee pads, and elbow pads. A limited supply of gear will be available for borrowing, BUT WE WILL NOT HAVE MOUTHGUARDS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MOUTHGUARD. Skaters will not be allowed to try out unless they have ALL required safety gear.
Skating skills tested will be those taught at the two pre-tryout bootcamps. Please see the wftda minimum skills requirements as most of the non-contact skills herein will be tested at tryouts. http://wftda.com/rules/wftda-minimum-skill-requirements.pdf. Specifically, nearly all the skills under 1, 2, and 3 (you are not required to complete 25 laps in 5 minutes at tryouts but this will be part of the fresh meat curriculum and is a required element to move on in the program).
As always, NO SPECTATORS or NON-SKATING individuals will be permitted entry.
