The Detective

Northwest Film Forum
Seattle, WA

Frank Sinatra stars as an honest but conflicted cop, tough on crime but struggling with a law enforcement establishment where racism and homophobia are the norm.  While investigating the murder of a wealthy and well-connected gay man, the mystery takes a turn with surprising results.

Part of The I Love the Nightlife series:
Ready to take a retrospective walk on the wild side? Explore the darker fringes of the homo social scene as depicted in the movies. Every Thursday in April, Three Dollar Bill Cinema goes out to the gay bar with this provocative film series featuring queer gathering spaces in prominent roles.
From stereotypical characters to candid portrayals of queer culture, see how filmmakers envisioned what the gays were doing back in the day in back alleys, barrooms and beyond.
