The Dreamchild Neverists
Dream Theatre Company presents: the Dreamchild Neverists Part One: The Birthday Adventure of Olive, Who Accidentally Wished Herself Unhappy and Part Two: The Further Adventures of Olive, the Asylum at the Center of the World a staged reading of the world premiere play, by Chicago playwright Jeremy Menekseoglu. With illustrations by Mab Graves.

On her sixteenth birthday, dear Audience, a girl named Olive discovers that birthday wishes are real when she is forced to marry the hideous and sadistic Mouse Spider King, and becomes ensnared in a nightmarish underground world filled with monsters Join Dream Theatre Company as they take you on a fearsome adventure into the dark world of The Dreamchild Neverists.
POSSUM

Are you aware that you are holding a Vampoodle, child?
PINKY
Is that what kind of dog this is?
POSSUM
They are not canine, child. They were the inevitable evolutionary result of the first vampires who took to preening, and putting on makeup, and starving themselves, and who stared for centuries into mirrors- though they had no reflections.
PINKY
This isn't a vampire.
POSSUM
Child, I assure you that whatever you wish to believe, it is a very dangerous beast you are holding. One bite, and you become a Vampoodle yourself.
PINKY
That happened When the spider king came, a little poodle followed and it bit mother. That made the spider king very angry and he squished the little dog flat and then went to kill our maid with the washing machine But I'm not worried Mother would never bite me.
