Art Generation is a 2-part program that cultivates youth creativity and engagement in the built environment. Teen participants, ages 13-18, attend interactive workshops that focus on public art, community creativity, and design skills. Arts,design and city planning professionals (full list TBA) will assist participants in generating their own artistic responses to city and neighborhood spaces. As a culminating project, participants will form teams and use modeling and design skills to implement their own 2D and 3D spatial interventions. Art Generation design projects will include:
-Creating a mural for the Vera Project at Seattle Center -Making a Park(ing) Day Pop-Up Park -Designing an installation for the Vera Project Gallery
The goal of the program is for teens to be inspired to see the connections between design, architecture and art and get involved in advocating for urban and community spaces and in shaping them.
SAT, MARCH 9 & SAT, APRIL 6 Each event is a unique, full-day program. Location: the Vera Project at Seattle Center Time: 10am - 4pm. Lunch will be provided. Registration: $25 for one event and $40 for two, but FULL fellowships to the event are also available upon request. See you there!
