Fruit Trees 101: Introduction to Fruit Tree Care
Online ticket sales are now closed, but there is still room in the Fruit Trees 101 class. Join us and pay at the door by cash or check.
Need to learn how to select, plant, irrigate, manage pests, and maintain your fruit trees? Not sure where to begin? This three hour workshop is for you.
UC Santa Cruz's Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems is pleased to present this informative workshop with expert orchardist Matthew Sutton. Sutton founded Orchard Keepers (www.orchardkeepers.com), a Santa Cruz-based company that specializes in orchard design, installation and maintenance. Attendees will learn the basics of how to select and plant fruit trees, maintain trees, and increase their backyard orchard's yield. Please note that a separate workshop focused on fruit tree pruning will take place on February 2 at the UCSC Farm.
The workshop takes place at the UCSC Farm on the UC Santa Cruz campus. Directions to the UCSC Farm are available at: http://casfs.ucsc.edu/about/directions-2 Free parking is available the day of the event.
Note: heavy rain cancels; rainout date is Saturday, January 12.
