Description
Join us for a night of comedy as the California Alumni Association - Chinese Chapter will showcase four of the Bay Area's fastest rising comedic talents when it hosts the "Big Trouble in Little Berkeley" Comedy Show. The show will take place on the UC Berkeley Campus in 145 Dwinelle on Sunday, April 13 with the doors opening at 7PM and the show commencing at 8PM.

With their brand of edgy, unapologetic humor that some may find controversial, but all find hilarious, Kevin Camia, Joey Guila, Randall Park, and Ali Wong are not only making names for themselves on the local scene, but redefining Asian-American stand-up along the way. Tickets are priced at $20 for general admission, $15 for CAA - Chinese Chapter members, and $8 for students. Tickets are sold at the door, but given the limited 250 seat capacity of the venue, advance ticket reservation is available and highly recommended.

ABOUT THE COMEDIANS:

Kevin Camia has performed around the country, the Philippines, and is a local favorite in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kevin's comedy is a unique blend of dry wit, storytelling and social satire. He recently taped a set for "Live at Gotham," which will air on Comedy Central later this year.

Filipino comedian Joey Guila is the host of a new television show called Comedy Zen on ImaginAsian TV. In the bay area he won the Kings of Comedy competition which led him to perform on P Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy in New York. Joey's tours include, Latham Entertainments Kings of Comedy Search Tour 2003, Takeout Comedy Tour 2004, Brown Seoul Comedy Tour 2005 and The Furious Four Comedy Tour coming to a city near you!

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Randall Park is an actor, writer, and stand-up comedian. Randall comes from a long line of artists and performers. His aunt was the first woman in Korea to direct a feature film. He has performed stand-up comedy throughout the United States. Randall is also a member of the Los Angeles based band Ill Again. He has also appeared in feature films and numerous television series including MTV's Wil 'n Out, House, Las Vegas, ER and Reno 911!

In her trademark "Chun-Li" buns, Adidas jacket and baggy pants, Ali Wong is best known for her imitations of Chinese ladies on MUNI, white Rainbow Grocery shoppers in dreadlocks, and her fellow Black comics. In only 2 years on the stand-up comic scene, Ali Wong has attracted a large fan base that has described her comedy as "fresh, empowering, and f'ing hilarious."

ABOUT THE CAA  CHINESE CHAPTER:

The California Alumni Association (CAA) - Chinese Chapter is committed to serve the alumni and to advance and promote the welfare of the University of California at Berkeley.

To this end, the Chinese Chapter, since its founding in 1933, has provided monetary scholarships to deserving students entering the Berkeley campus. The scholarship funds, sourced from fund raising events and donations from generous supporters, have allowed for the provision of over 20 scholarships and endowments annually, the most of any club or organization at UC Berkeley.

The Chinese Chapter has also raised and donated funds for other worthy endeavors, the most recent being a $500,000 donation for the building of the East Asian Library and Study Center.
